About Me

marge7My name is Marge and I’m 50 years old. I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and now live in a large city in the South. I’ve been a Christian since I was 18 years old (my freshman year at Penn State). God has been very kind to me. I’ve been married for 21 years to my dear husband Steve, and we’ve been blessed with five wonderful children, ranging in age from 12 to 19. I’ve been homeschooling them ever since the oldest started kindergarten, so I’ve been at it for about 14 years. The two oldest have graduated, so I’m only homeschooling three of them now. I’ve never ever regretted staying home with my kids. At the age of 40, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer but, quite miraculously, the cancer was discovered at an early stage and I have been cancer-free for nine years now. For this I am very grateful to God.

I have many and varied interests. I love most kinds of music – both listening and playing – with the exception of opera and most country. I also enjoy reading theological books, biographies, and classics. As far as other entertainment goes, I prefer old movies and don’t watch much tv. I’m interested in just a few sports, namely NASCAR, Carolina Panthers and Penn State football, and ACC basketball (Go Duke!). I’m purely a sports spectator, though, and have never really enjoyed participating. I exercise to keep fit, not for enjoyment. Other interests include economics, history, politics, computers, birds, and the German language. Politically, I’m a juris naturalist (libertarian); registered as an Independent. I also love to cook, bake, and eat good food, and I enjoy knitting, sewing, and other types of crafts. My idea of a perfect day is being inside by the fire with my family on a chilly day, sipping a hot cuppa tea (or coffee), my knitting or a good book in hand. I’m a real homebody, but I do enjoy traveling and would love to visit the British Isles and Germany someday.
